Private Fishing Tours and Excursions in Fort Myers FL

The temperature and humidity are rising, and the fishing has never been hotter.  June is an excellent month for most game fish in the Gulf, with snook and Tarpon at the top of the list.  Inshore the fishing has been incredible in the passes and along the beaches for snook and Tarpon.  Threadfin’s and Pinfish have been the bait of choice.  Large Redfish have also been productive in these areas, surprising anglers who are expecting snook.  Offshore fishing has also been excellent.  Red snapper and Grouper are in season for those anglers looking to take home dinner.  These fish have been 10-20 miles offshore in 50-80ft of water.  Summer offers calm seas and light winds making these runs are easy.  Target ledges and structure with pinfish or frozen sardines to catch these offshore fish.  Captain Joey Shogren of Shallow Water Guide Service has been catching some monster snook this week.  These young anglers had to help each other reel this 46”, 24lb monster Snook to the boat.
