Fort Myers Beach, Florida, April 4, 2008 – The Pink Shell Beach Resort & Spa is officially the first resort on the beaches of Fort Myers and Sanibel, Florida to be designated a Green Lodging Property by the Florida Department of Environmental Protection (FDEP).

A Florida Green Lodging Property must implement programs and practices designed to protect and conserve Florida's natural resources and the environment, while educating their staff and guests about its importance. To be inducted in to the FDEP's Green Lodging Program, Pink Shell Beach Resort & Spa had to meet criteria in the following categories: Communication amongst employees & guests, Water Conservation, Energy Efficiency, Waste Reduction and Clean Air Practices. The Staff at Pink Shell is committed to protecting & preserving the land and waterways of Southwest Florida and is currently working towards receiving their 2 nd palm designation.
The Pink Shell Beach Resort & Spa is located on Fort Myers Beach offering 1,500 feet of sugar-white sands, 223 beachfront units, and many recreational activities.
